I just come across a stunning discovery by surfing 3d model stores. Today when I was searching for more information about 3d models marketplaces and found competition, where you can win up to 500$ just by doing what you like. Yeah, you heard right. One 3d models store (which I'll be reviewing later) announced challenge, where by just uploading 3d models you can win cash and store credit prizes. More info you can find on their main website CGTrader and immediately you can start uploading your quality 3d models. There is two categories where you can compete: "Best 3D Stock Seller" and "Best 3D Model for Sale". If you have questions, I bet you can find answers to them in FAQ. Are you still reading? Go faster and win it, you have only month to do it!

First marketplace.
First store I'll be reviewing as you could see from my picture going to be TurboSquid. If you at least a little familiar with modeling and selling 3d models online, you of course know TurboSquid. It's one of the biggest stores (I'm not sure, maybe even biggest one). Also It has biggest traffic from all others.
First impression really good. Maybe newest thing advertisement takes to much space. Then you can see their partners. Pretty impressing list seeing such a well known companies like Pixar, Activision and others. After that, there is some categories - most of them are 3d models categories, but there's also 3Ds Max plugins and Textures. At the end of page you can find menus for everything you'd need to find on website. I'd prefer, if they'd be placed in more visible place.
Registering to TurboSquid is very simple and takes only a minute. Uploading and publishing products could look little complex at first. If you want publish your 3d model, first you need upload it. After uploading, you need set a lot of parameters, write description, add tags and photos. But don't be afraid, if you forget something, you couldn't publish it and some help tips will show what you need to add.
Browsing through store helps a lot of different filters, but sometimes they can be a little frustrating, since you always need to turn them off. But if you know, what you need, they can really help you fast to find it.
Most negative feedback I saw on web related to TurboSquid is that they have huge commissions rate compared to other stores. If you just want to sell your model on more stores and you just starting, you'll get only 40% of your model price. There is possibility to earn up to 80%, but that involves a lot of work and selling models only on TurboSquid.
In general, it's very good store, if you looking to buy models, since they have huge collection. Also they offer textures, plugins and software. So you can use it not only as 3d models marketplace. But, if you want sell models, I'm not recommending stay only on TurboSquid.
Intro
Hello everyone,
My name is Mike. Becaus I am 3d modeling fan I wanted to make blog about something related to it. Since I'm not a real pro at modeling, I can't really make good tutorials related to this topic. So I thought and got an idea. I'll dedicate my blog to introducing people to 3d models marketplaces. I'll try to review all aspects of store: from first impression and design to how it's actually convenient to upload your model and try to sell it. If you asking in what order I'm going to review marketplaces, I have very simple answer to it. I'll just take marketplaces in that order, how Google will give them to me and my keyword is "3d model marketplace" (I'll ignore suggestion given by GoogleAds).
